Police investigating Tuesday’s shootings in Lexington, two charged
Four people were shot in less than 24-hours in Lexington on Tuesday. So far, two arrests have been made.
Lexington Police say more arrests are expected.
Codie Calderon and Omari Sweat are charged in a shooting on Lima Drive. Officers say they found Sweat shot in a parking lot.
Police say the bullet-riddled car from the shooting was found on Lin-Wal Drive late Tuesday night, near where police say there was another shooting on Hollow Creek Road.
They say a victim, a woman, showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Investigators say she was shot during a fight with her boyfriend.
The first shooting of the day came in during broad daylight on La Salle Road.
Investigators think a group of people got into some type of altercation, which led to gunfire.
Police found one man critically wounded at the scene, another victim showed up at the hospital.
A Fayette County school bus was hit by a bullet. Fortunately no kids were on the bus at the time and no one was hurt, according to the school district.
Police believe the suspects ran from La Salle to the busy intersection of Russell Cave and New Circle Roads where more shots were fired.
Lexington police say all four victims were still in the hospital Wednesday morning.
The shootings are still being investigated.
