One dead, two critically injured in South Broadway shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington police say one person is dead and two others are fighting for their lives following a shooting Thursday evening near South Broadway.
According to a release from the Lexington Police Department, officers were called around 6:30 p.m. to the 300 block of Virginia Avenue for a report of a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, police say they located three male victims who had been shot in a parking lot in the 1000 block of South Broadway.
Police say one of the victims died at the scene. The other two victims were taken to a local hospital with what police described as life-threatening injuries.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the name of the person who died.
In the release, police say detectives are actively following up on leads and information as the investigation continues. Authorities are asking residents and businesses in the area to review any surveillance or security camera footage that may help investigators.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington police are investigating a shooting that left three people injured New Year’s Day evening on South Broadway.
According to a post from the Lexington Police Department, officers were called around 6:30 p.m. to the 1000 block of South Broadway for a report of a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, police say they found three people who had been shot.
Lexington Fire Department officials tell ABC 36 News Now their crews were sent to the scene as well.
Police have not released information about the victims’ conditions or what led up to the shooting.
