Police investigating several robberies involving the use of clown masks

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington police are investigating another robbery that involved a suspect using a clown mask as a disguise.

Police say a suspect robbed the Shell station located in the Walmart Shopping Center off of Man O’ War Boulevard and Nicholasville Road around 1 a.m. Monday.

The suspect was dressed in all black and was wearing a clown mask with bloody teeth, according to Police.

Officials say the showed a small black fire arm to the cashier, took money from the register and ran away.

Investigators say this is one of four robberies in two days with the same details.

The other three robberies took place Sunday.

The first happened at the Speedway on South Broadway, the second — at the Thornton’s on Georgetown Road and another at the East New Circle Road Speedway.

Police believe that the four robberies may be connected, but they don’t have any suspects yet.
