Police Investigate Deadly Train Accident In Lexington

Lexington Police said a man was killed Friday morning after he was hit by a train.

According to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, a 31-year-old man was on the train tracks near Regency Road and Pasadena Drive when he was struck.

The coroner said the man was laying on the tracks.

According to investigators, the conductor had blown his whistle in hopes of getting the man to move.

But police said he did not respond to the noise.

The coroner said that he did not believe the man was trying to take his own life, and may have already been dead when he was hit.

The coroner said that he had identified the man.

But his office was not going to release his name until the man’s family members had been contacted.

The coroner said an autopsy was done Friday, but the medical examiner’s report was not back yet.
