Police Investigate Back-To-Back Crimes
Lexington Police are kept busy late Monday night investigating a robbery and an attempted robbery within a short time frame.
The first happened on Village Drive.
Police said a man was getting out of his car around 10:30 p.m. when he was approached by a man with a silver handgun.
The suspect got away with the victim’s wallet and cell phone.
Then shortly afterwards, officers rushed to Jeffrey Court.
Police said a man was in the parking lot of his apartment complex when he was approached by two men, one with a black handgun.
Police said the two tried to rob the man, but he fought back.
Police said the victim was hit with the gun during a scuffle. He sustained minor injuries but was OK.
The victim then tried to run away into his apartment. That’s when police said one of the suspects fired a shot.
Those suspects ran off empty handed.
In spite of the similar timing and location of the two incidents, police said they don’t have any evidence linking the crimes.
