Police: Inconsistencies In Reported Kidnapping Case
Police in Georgetown say that a young girl reported that a man tried to abduct her Monday morning.
Now investigators say there are several inconsistencies in her story.
Originally, the child told police that it happened around 7:00am as she was standing at her bus stop at the Georgetown Terrace Apartments.
The girl told police a man in a 4-door, maroon car told her to get into his vehicle.
She reported that when she told him ‘no’, the man tried to grab her.
The girl claimed she then ran to a neighbor’s house, and stayed there until police came.
Police say that despite the inconsistencies in the story, they will continue to increase patrols in the area, and investigate the claims.
