Police: Hit and run accident sends two to the hospital

(LEXINGTON, Ky.) Police are investigating a hit and run accident that happened just before midnight Monday at the intersection of East New Circle and Tates Creek Road.

Authorities say the driver of a pick-up truck ran a red light and crashed into a sedan injuring two passengers. Those passengers were taken to University of Kentucky hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Authorities say when they arrived they discovered the driver of the truck had taken off. ABC 36 was told police later tracked down the driver hiding in some bushes near the interstate.

Police say charges against the pick-up truck driver are still pending.
