Police: Victim was Georgetown murder suspect’s caretaker
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Georgetown Police say a woman beaten to death with a baseball bat was the accused killer’s caretaker.
Police charged 36-year-old Hunter L. Moore with murder after the woman was found dead in a home on Markham Drive Thursday afternoon.
Police say they arrived at the scene, looked through a window and saw a woman lying in a pool of blood on the floor.
They say Moore was in the home.
The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Denise Rene Hamilton.
According to his arrest citation, Moore told police he was upstairs in the house when God told him to go and beat the demon out of the woman downstairs.
Moore says he took the baseball bat and tried to beat the demon out of the Hamilton’s stomach and, as he was doing it, she asked him why he was beating her, according to the citation.
Police say Moore stated he felt bad for killing Hamilton.
Moore is in the Scott County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, August 7.
