Police: Fleeing Suspect Hits Gas Meter
Crews had to repair a gas meter in downtown Lexington on Tuesday morning after police said a man hit it with a van.
Police said it started at around 4 a.m. When the suspect stole a moped on the University of Kentucky campus.
They said he then got into a van and took off.
Police said during a pursuit with the suspect, he hit and damaged a gas meter off De Roode Street.
He then ran off.
Police arrested him a short time later.
Columbia Gas crews were called to the scene to repair the damaged meter.
