Police: Danville man arrested for attacking another man with meat cleaver
DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man is in custody after police say he hit another man in the head with a meat cleaver in Danville Wednesday night.
The Danville Police Department says officers were called around 7:10 p.m. about an assault victim who was brought to the hospital.
Officers say they spoke to the 23-year-old victim who identified the man who hit him as 21-year-old Hunter M. Newman, of Danville.
Police say Newman and the victim had an argument in a car on Highland Court when Newman struck him in the head and face with the meat cleaver.
Officers say they found Newman at a home on Highland Court and arrested him.
According to police, the meat cleaver was found in a trash can away from the scene.
Newman is charged with assault, wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
