Police catch alleged robber after he trips while running away

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police have arrested a man they say committed a robbery and then tripped while trying to escape.

According to police, they had already arrested 19-year-old Malyk Persley on robbery and domestic violence charges when he tried to escape.

They say he ran half a mile while handcuffed, before tripping.

That’s when they say they caught up to him and arrested him.

Persley now faces domestic assault, robbery, and fleeing police.
