Police to be at Boyle County Schools After Weapons Found in Student’s Car

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – There will be a police presence at every Boyle County school beginning Wednesday after weapons were found in a student’s vehicle in the student parking lot on Tuesday, according to a post on the school district’s Facebook page.

The post says the student was not armed in school and there was no reason to believe that students were ever in any danger.

Below is the Facebook post in its entirety:

Earlier today, Boyle Co High School officials, along with our school resource officer, found weapons in a student’s vehicle parked in the student parking lot. The student was in class at the school and was not armed. It is important to note that we have no reason to believe that our students were in danger at any time. Moving forward, the school and district administration is working and will continue to work closely with local authorities. As a safety precaution, there will be police presence at every school beginning tomorrow and continuing until enough information has been gathered to ensure that no threat exists. We will continue to keep student safety as our #1 priority.
