Police Ask For Your Help With Danville Break-Ins

Windjammer Fun Center is a play place for kids but Monday morning it was the scene of a break-in and the crook was caught on camera.

It’s one of two burglaries, just hours apart, in Danville.  Police are asking for help identifying a suspect.

Just before 3 AM you see someone breaking the glass out of the front door, sneaking into Windjammer.

The suspect rummages through the office and throws a computer.

Workers say the suspect comes back 40 minutes later for the computer and trips the alarm.

After that, one of their employees found glass shards on the ground.

"It was really unfortunate because we had a group and had to explain. It’s kind of sad; it’s a place kids have fun," said Harrison, manager at Windjammer.

Police said a second overnight break-in at Brookcove Dry Cleaners looks similar.

Their owner found broken glass on the ground. While she was calling the police, she saw her cash register was gone.

Between the front door, register and stolen money she’s out about $500.

She said she thinks the thief left foot prints on the door mat and that her alarm scared them off.

Staff at the dry cleaners and Windjammer said they hope whoever broke in is caught or turns themselves in.
