Two charged with stealing vehicles in Madison County

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ)-Police in Berea say after a couple people led them on a chase, they discovered something else was wrong.

It started when officers say they responded to the McDonald’s on Glades Road after someone spotted a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot. They say it had a stolen license plate so they towed it to the PD. Shortly after, officers say sheriff’s deputies requested help finding a vehicle which had recently been involved in a home invasion.

Berea Police say that vehicle was located on Highway 1016 but didn’t stop when an officer tried to pull it over. They say a short pursuit ended on North Wilderness Road in Rockcastle County when the vehicle crashed.

Police say they arrested 18-year-old Kevin Bowen of Richmond and 21-year-old Jessica Houp of Berea. They say the two had been driving a stolen vehicle and later learned they had left the suspicious vehicle at McDonald’s after stealing it as well.
