LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Stephen Johnson went 17-of-22 for 310 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 62-42 win over New Mexico State Saturday.
Not bad for the one-time Grambling, College of the Desert JUCO transfer to Lexington.
Johnson did what needed to be done in the absence of Drew Barker, which is why, barring a miracle healing Barker’s bad back as head coach Mark Stoops noted on his radio show Monday night, it will be Johnson behind center once again come kickoff with South Carolina.
Hear from Stoops on Johnson’s play in the video.
