Pinwheel planting in Frankfort for child abuse awareness

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Gov. Andy Beshear is marking the start of Child Abuse Prevention Month with a pinwheel planting ceremony Monday morning.

According to officials, the governor will join advocates in the fight against child abuse by planting pinwheels in the garden outside the State Capitol.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Monday.

The pinwheel is recognized nationally as a symbol of child abuse prevention, representing hope, health, and happiness for children.
