Pilot killed in small plane crash near Paducah

PADUCAH, Ky. (WTVQ)- A small plane crashed near Paducah Thursday night, killing the pilot.

The single-engine plane went down about four miles north of Barkley Regional Airport.

An airport official says the craft was on its approach when the accident happened.

The crash did not affect airport operations.

Authorities say the pilot was the only person on board and they are working to notify the family.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
