Pikeville doctor acquitted in federal health care fraud case
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Pikeville doctor was acquitted Wednesday in federal court in a health care fraud case, according to federal court documents.
A jury found Dr. Sai P. Gutti not-guilty on eight counts of health fraud, according to court documents.
He was indicted in April 2019, accused of billing Medicare and Medicaid for urine tests on patients that weren’t medically necessary, in order to make more money.
Dr. Gutti practiced in pain management clinics in Pikeville and other cities in the region.
