Phoenix Park reopens with new playground, dog park, and family features
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Phoenix Park in downtown Lexington is officially open again after more than a year of construction.
The one-acre park, located at Main Street and Limestone, has been completely redesigned with new amenities for families and visitors. The upgraded space features swinging benches, picnic tables, a dog park, and a three-story climbing playground. There’s also a stage for live music, a sensory play area for toddlers, and an interactive electronic game called the Neos 360.
City leaders say the redesigned park will bring new energy to downtown, offering families, kids, and visitors a place to gather, connect, and play. Phoenix Park will be open daily from daylight until 11 p.m.
Mayor Linda Gorton will cut the ribbon to officially open the park at 4:30 Thursday.
