Pet ‘portraits’ raise money for Humane Society

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Humane Society wants to draw your pet! Visit the agency’s Handmade Pet Drawings post on Facebook. Then, simply donate $15 on the post and comment with a photo of your pet.

After confirming the donation, LHS will comment backwith a handmade drawing in return!

And the HUmane Society has a little fun while making it clear: “We do
not claim to be artistically talented…at all. This is part of what makes this campaign so much fun!”
The LHS has a team of staff and volunteers ready to turn animals into a timeless work of art — or at least something memorable.

The LHS adopts out almost 5,000 animals every year and relies heavily on donations to care for those animals, especially during this difficult time.
TO SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS: Simply click the Donate button on the LHS Handmade Pet Drawings post on Facebook and submit $15 per photo (maximum of two pets per photo). Once you’ve made your donation, comment with the photo of your pet. The LHS team will then get to
work drawing, and will reply with a picture of your homemade masterpiece as soon as possible.

There’s no limit to how many drawings you can purchase; the more donations received, the more money raised for the LHS animals!
“We have been looking for fun ways to raise money for the LHS animals,” says Ashley Hammond, LHS Director of Fundraising, “and the community is responding really well. It is a great way to get our volunteers involved. With our large volunteer base, many are looking for ways to help and this is a way they can safely continue to serve the homeless animals.”
