Person found dead after vehicle fire in Laurel County
LAUREL COUNTY, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A person was found dead following a vehicle fire Tuesday afternoon in Laurel County.
According to East Bernstadt Fire & Rescue, emergency crews were dispatched just before 3 p.m. to reports of a vehicle fire with a possible person trapped inside.
Officials say a caller reported they were unable to reach the vehicle because of the intensity of the flames.
When firefighters arrived, they confirmed the vehicle was fully engulfed and that a person was trapped inside.
Crews entered the vehicle and discovered a deceased victim.
Authorities say no additional information about the victim will be released at this time as law enforcement continues a death investigation.
