Perryville Battlefield receives grant for protection and preservation

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVQ) -Perryville Battlefield In Boyle Co. will receive a portion of $5.3 million in grants from the Land and Water Conservation Fund to help preserve 1,640 acres at 17 of America’s Civil War battlefields.

The grants will fund projects at battlefields that are threatened by encroaching development in Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Virginia.

According to a release from the National Park Service, Perryville Battlefield will receive just shy of $300,000 for protection and preservation.
