Percy’s Bar wins 2026 Ashland Stakes at Keeneland

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 News Now) — The 2026 Ashland Stakes took place Friday, opening the spring meet at Keeneland Race Course, with Percy’s Bar bringing home the victory.

The Ashland Stakes features a $750,000 purse and is contested at 1 1/16 miles on dirt.

Percy’s Bar is owned by Hat Creek Racing, trained by Ben Colebrook, and ridden by jockey Luan Machado.

Percy’s Bar was followed by morning-line favorite Zany, who finished second, while Star Actress finished third after entering the race at 6/1 odds.

Percy’s Bar had the second-lowest odds entering the race, behind Zany, who ultimately finished as the runner-up.

With the victory, Percy’s Bar has qualified for the Kentucky Oaks next month at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
