Kentucky State Police say 34-year-old Joshua Ellis, of Monticello, was driving on KY-92, when he struck Adia Fuson, who was standing on the side of the road.

Police say a trooper on patrol Thursday spotted a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the accident.

Ellis is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid with death or serious physical injury.

Ellis’ 15-year-old son was in the vehicle at the time, according to police.

He is charged with tampering with physical evidence.

Police say more charges are expected.

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday night in Bell County, according to State Police.

It happened just after 9:00 p.m., according to KSP.

State Police say 59-year-old Adia Fuson had parked in the east-bound lane of KY-92, while people were loading a pressure washer into a truck on the side of the highway.

Police say it had fallen into the ditch there, and Fuson was trying to shield the people re-loading it so they wouldn’t get hit.

They say a 90’s model black Hyundai sedan left the road and hit Fuson, killing him, before that car drove off.

Police are looking for that car, as well as two men inside, who they say are in their 20’s or 30’s.

They say the car should be missing a headlight and passenger side mirror, and should have front-end damage as well.

If you have any information about this, please call police.
