Pedestrian hit and killed in Boyle County

JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A young man was killed in Boyle County after being struck by a car.

The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old John Knight was hit by a car while crossing the intersection on Shelby Street in Junction City at around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Two other people were with Knight at the time, according to deputies.

They were not injured.

Knight was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Deputies say they couldn’t determine who failed to yield right of way due to conflicting witness statements regarding who had the green light.

The accident is under investigation.
