Peaceful playground teaches valuable lessons

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Members of the community came together on Monday to make sure students at one school have a peaceful playground this school year.

Parents, students and faculty at Mary Queen Holy Rosary School were out this morning  stenciling and painting a new blacktop playground for interactive games and activities. Principal Rebecca Brown says they hope the playground will help students learn about anti-bullying, positive interaction,  “…and also to understand, what is it that you do if maybe there might be a disagreement, how do you solve that without yelling at one another, and part of the peaceful playground is that they do share with you conflict resolution skills.”

The principal says they received a donation from one of the parents to help create the peaceful playground.
