Peace walk held between Saturday shootings in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ)- Just hours after an early morning shooting and hours before an evening shooting, community members gathered at Duncan Park in Lexington for an evening peace walk.
The walk was already planned. It is the annual event hosted by the Antonio Franklin Jr. VIP Project.
Anita Franklin created the violence intervention project in 2014 in memory of her son who died because of a random act of gun violence in Duncan Park.
The theme of this year’s walk was “unsung heroes”. Franklin wanted to recognize those who have stood with her in times of need.
