PD: Suspect fights officer, tries to take gun

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Officers say one of their own was in danger early Sunday morning when a man at a gas station attacked him.

They say a Lexington Police officer was getting gas at the Speedway off Broadway and Angliana. That’s when they say a clerk ran outside and asked for help with a man causing a problem inside.

The officer went inside to speak with the man when police say he was attacked. They say the man tried to get his gun from him.

They say the man is Brock Bedingfield and that he’s charged with assault and attempting to disarm a police officer.
