PD: Man sold stolen hemp plants in Walmart parking lot

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- Danville police say a man was arrested today after he was caught selling stolen hemp plants at a Walmart parking lot.

Investigators say the suspect had a pickup truck full of leafy plants.  Police say they later learned the plants had been stolen from a legal hemp grow on private property.

Police say 27-year-old Timothy Preston of Harrodsburg was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property,  possession for sale/transfer simulated controlled substance and criminal trespassing.

Investigators say a second man who was with Preston was not involved in the theft and was released.
