Patient With Ebola-Like Symptoms Brought To UK Hospital

UK Hospital’s readiness for an Ebola patient was tested on Tuesday, but it wasn’t a drill.

An ambulance from Madison County, with its crew in full hazmat suits and masks, brought a man who reportedly had Ebola-like symptoms to the hospital.

The hospital was alerted prior to the ambulance’s arrival and proper protocol was put in place and followed, according to UK.

Once the ambulance arrived, UK doctors boarded and ambulance and determined the patient did not have the Ebola virus.

The incident served as a real-life test of the readiness of the ambulance crew and the hospital to treat a potential Ebola patient.
