Patient Causes Damage To Lexington Hospital
A patient is accused of causing thousands of dollars in damage at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
Court documents said the woman was admitted to the hospital on Monday and, during her stay, she tampered with a sprinkler head.
That set the sprinkler off inside the emergency room, causing a large flood.
The water leaked through the floor and into several rooms and offices along with the gift shop.
Court documents said the widespread water damage forced the hospital to divert patients to another emergency room.
Documents also said, when asked why she did it, the woman said she was "attracted to metal."
She is charged with criminal mischief.
