Party like it’s 1996 at Lexington bar’s 20th anniversary
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – McCarthy’s Irish Bar in downtown Lexington is celebrating a big anniversary with some pretty intense drink specials.
The bar has been operating on S. Upper Street for 20 years, many of them housed directly opposite the CentrePointe project. To celebrate, they’re rolling back prices to 1996, the year they originally opened. The pricing is something the bar has done for several years now, according to the owner.
Despite the construction and controversy of the pit-next-door, McCarthy’s owner says regulars still make the trip to get their fill of Irish hospitality, along with a few drinks.
The bar will continue it’s celebration into the evening, with live Irish music being played from 8:00 p.m. until midnight.
