Paris Man Arrested On Numerous Drug Charges

Paris Police said while attempting to serve a warrant Tuesday at 139 Virginia Avenue on Jammal Thomas, 23, of Paris, officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana in the residence after Thomas opened the door.

Once inside, officers said they could see what appeared to be heroin and cocaine.

Police said they obtained and executed a search warrant of the residence.

Investigators said during the search, they found approximately 41-grams of crack cocaine, 3.5 grams of heroin, 1-ounce of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, 4 small caliber handguns and approximately $2,800 in cash.

Police said Thomas was charged with Trafficking Cocaine 1st Degree over 4 Grams, Trafficking Heroin 1st Degree over 2 Grams, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun (3 counts), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Police said a charge of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree was also placed due to a three year old child living in the residence.

Police said Jawanna Smithers was also charged.
