Parents accused of trying to sell newborn twins for $5,000 speak with ABC36 NewsNow in detention center interview

JACKSON Co., Ky. (WTVQ) —- Zackary Davis and Jacquilyn Keith sit in the Jackson County Detention Center accused of trying to sell their newborn twins for $5,000. They are charged with promoting human trafficking.

Both Davis and Keith say their sister-in-law, Alicia Johnson, set them up and is the reason they are sitting in jail.

According to Keith, Johnson was Facebook messaging Davis, trying to convince him to sell her the twins.

“They’re the ones who contacted us to buy our children, several different times, his sister even showed she had $5,000 in the bank to buy them from us,” Keith said.

Keith adds that after she gave birth, Davis took the twins to Johnson and her wife; Keith says she never saw the twins again.

“They were literally ripped out of my arms; he literally took them to his sisters and never brought them back home,” she said.

Davis denies that he made a deal to sell the twins. He says he even called the sheriff’s office multiple times to try and report Johnson for kidnapping.

“It’s blowing my mind,” Davis said. “Usually, if I’m in jail, I’ll tell you ‘Yea I did it’, but it’s blowing my mind I had absolutely no wrongdoing.”

Both Jacquilyn Keith and Zackary Davis will appear in front of a Jackson County judge Monday, March 25th at 9:30am facing charges of promoting human trafficking for victims under 18.
