Paramedic seriously injured in crash in Harrison County

CYNTHIANA, Ky. (WTVQ) – An ambulance crash sends a paramedic to the hospital.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. on KY 36 at Lafferty Pike.

According to Harrison County Emergency Services, an ambulance crew was taking a patient involved in a vehicle crash to the hospital when the ambulance went off the road and crashed.

A paramedic who was in the back of the ambulance with the patient was seriously injured.

Officials say she suffered several broken bones and lacerations.

She was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital to be treated.

The patient did not receive any additional injuries, according to emergency officials.

The driver of the ambulance was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
