Pancake dinner raises money to honor Officer Daniel Ellis

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- Pancakes were passed around at a breakfast, Saturday morning in hopes of sending Richmond officers to help honor their fallen brother, Officer Daniel Ellis.

The pancake breakfast was held at First Baptist Church in Richmond. Organizers say nearly $4,500 was raised to help Richmond officers make it to our nation’s capitol. That’s where they’ll spend Police Week, as Ellis’ name is unveiled on the National Law Enforcement Memorial.

The Madison County FOP and the Richmond PD are raising funds to send officers to the memorial ceremony. The money raised goes toward lodging, fuel and food for the officers attending.
