Pair of I-75 crashes brings Saturday traffic to standstill
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Northbound lanes were shut down for about half an hour as crews worked two accident scenes on Interstate 75 Saturday.
Lexington Police say a pickup truck was headed north on I-75 just after noon when it flipped near the 113 mile marker.
According to officers, the sudden slowdown in traffic caused another collision less than 200 yards away.
They say this resulted in a shutdown of all the northbound lanes before crews were able to open up one lane to get traffic moving again.
The scene was cleared in about two hours, according to officials.
Police say only minor injuries were reported, as everyone was wearing their seatbelts.
There’s still no word on what caused the truck to flip over.
