Pair indicted for murder, abuse of corpse in Whitley Co. 4-year-old’s death

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) — Brittany Slaughter and Adams Hayes were indicted on Wednesday for murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence in the death of a 4-year-old Whitley County girl.

The pair is accused of killing Chloe Darnell and were arrested last month.

Slaughter’s bond is set at $250,000 and Hayes’ is set at $500,000.

Their next court date is scheduled for Jan. 16.

Chloe had been missing since September as well as Slaughter, however, Slaughter was found unharmed on Nov. 16. Chloe had still been reported as missing at that point.

Chloe’s body was found on Nov. 17.

Slaughter is Chloe’s aunt; Hayes is Slaughter’s boyfriend.

Chloe’s body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
