Painter Accused of Stealing $10,000 in Jewelry

Lexington Police said a man stole $10,000 worth of jewelry from a home where he was painting. 

According to court documents, David McCabe asked a housekeeper to open some upstairs windows and remove the screens so he could paint the windowsills at the home on Bridgeport Drive.

Police said a jewelry box disappeared soon after McCabe’s request.

Investigators said McCabe was charged with burglary.
