Owl rescued from fishing line in tree in Powell County

POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Natural Bridge State Resort Park officials are urging people to be mindful of wildlife after an owl was rescued from a fishing line.

According to park officials, Good Samaritan campers and park staff rescued the owl over the weekend after it became entangled in a fishing line in a tree.

The owl was taken to the Raptor Rehab Center in Louisville, where it is expected to make a full recovery from its injuries.

Park officials remind everyone to pick up their trash and remove fishing lines when camping to prevent such incidents.
