Owensboro Health Implements Visitor Restrictions Amid Respiratory Virus Surge

OWENSBORO, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Owensboro Health Regional Hospital says it is implementing visitor restrictions due to a high number of admissions related to respiratory viruses.

According to a social media post from the hospital, the restrictions are being put in place to help protect patients, visitors and staff as respiratory illnesses continue to spread.

Hospital officials say anyone experiencing symptoms such as a fever, cough or sore throat should not visit patients at the hospital. They also note that children under the age of 18 are at a particular risk and are discouraged from visiting at this time.

In addition, visitors who do come to the hospital are encouraged to wear masks to help reduce the spread of illness.
