Owensboro dispatcher arrested for DUI after allegedly reporting to work intoxicated

OWENSBORO, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A dispatcher has been arrested after police say she reported to work intoxicated at the Owensboro Police Department.

According to the department, Brandy Gray, 44, of Owensboro, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense.

Police say officers were alerted after Central Dispatch reported that an employee may have arrived to work intoxicated.

Investigators say Gray showed signs of impairment and admitted to drinking earlier in the day before driving herself to work.

Gray was booked into the Daviess County Detention Center early Thursday morning and later released.

Court records show she is scheduled to be arraigned March 20.

The City of Owensboro says it is aware of the situation and is following established procedures but will not comment further due to the ongoing matter.
