All lanes open after semi overturns on Georgetown Road

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Georgetown Road at Innovation Drive in Lexington was closed Monday afternoon when a tractor-trailer flipped on its side trying to make a turn, according to Lexington Police.

Investigators say the semi driver was going too fast when he tried to turn from Innovation Drive onto Georgetown Road.

The driver complained of neck and back pain, but did not go to the hospital, according to police.

The tractor hit a utility pole, which had to be stabilized by Kentucky Utilities, according to investigators.

Both lanes of Georgetown Road finally reopened around 8:40 p.m., according to police.
