Overnight storms cause damage in Bourbon Co.
Bourbon County and Paris fire crews say no one was hurt. Officials from the City of Paris say there were at least two down power lines. They say all power was restored by 9:00 a.m.
Columbia Gas officials say there was a small gas leak but the firefighters turned off the natural gas upon arrival. The gas line that was leaking was in a home where Joe and Reba Benton live. They say there was considerable damage to the roof and water from the storm was leaking inside their home. "Oh the back of the house? It doesn’t look so good," says Joe Benton. He says they had to move their furniture to keep it from getting wet but that they had no place to put it.
He says they stand a Best Western motel last night and that representatives from the American Red Cross gave them gift cards to help pay for the room. "I think that’s real good," says Benton. He says as soon as the rain stops, he will be moving.
