Overnight fire under investigation

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Lexington Fire Department is investigating an overnight fire that destroyed a home.

Crews were called to the area of Goodloe and Race streets on a report of a structure fire. When they arrived, they learned the fire was actually in a residence in the 500 block of East 2nd Street.

Firefighters say the building was completely engulfed and had partially collapsed when they arrived. They say they acted quickly to put the fire out because the building was unstable.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
