Over $5,000 Raised in One Day to Return Georgetown Grad’s Body to KY
An online fundraiser to bring a 22-year-old Georgetown College graduate’s body back to Kentucky exceeded its goal in just one day.
Matthew O’Neal set up this link for his sister, Erica Faith Hagan, who died while on a mission trip to Chile to teach English.
According to O’Neal, Hagan’s body was found in her apartment over the weekend, leading authorities to believe it was a homicide.
The initial goal to bring Hagan’s body back to Kentucky for was $5,000. As of this writing, $5,755 has been donated by 154 people.
O’Neal expressed gratitude on the GoFundMe site for everyone who had shown their support. He said any additional donations will go toward the cost of the funeral, and if enough money is raised, the family is considering setting up a scholarship in Erica’s name.
