Over $20,000 seized in drug trafficking arrest
MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say an investigation in Rockcastle Co. led to an arrest and the seizure of thousands of dollars, drugs, guns, and vehicles.
Police say search two search warrants were executed that led to the arrest. The first, according to detectives, was for a home on Lair Street. There, officers say they found suspected marijuana, oxycodone, and suboxone strips. Troopers also seized $13,180 dollars, 10 long-guns, 4 handguns, a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette, a 2013 Nissan Altima, and a 2003 Honda Motorcycle. Officers say the second search warrant was for a safety deposit box at the Peoples Bank of Mount Vernon. Investigators say they found another $10,000 dollars there.
With the evidence they collected, officers arrested 68-year-old Logan R. Towery. He was taken to the Rockcastle Co. Detention Center. He has been charged with drug trafficking within 1,000 yards of a school.
Evidence discovered at the residence lead to the arrest of Logan R. Towery, 68, of Mount Vernon. He was lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance within a 1,000 yards of a School.
