Original call for animal neglect in Berea leads to abuse charges for parents of 5 children
BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) — A call originally for animal neglect in Berea led to two parents being charged with abuse concerning their five children.
In September, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Harrison King Lane for a complaint of animal neglect.
The initial investigation into the animal neglect complaint led to a call for assistance from the Department of Community Based Services.
George and Samantha Hill allegedly locked their five minor children in a bedroom for extended periods of time with limited food, water and without restroom breaks, deputies said.
The case has been under investigation for the past two months and is continuing.
George, 30, and Samantha, 31, are both charged with five counts of criminal abuse and five counts of unlawful imprisonment.
The two were arrested last week and booked into the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
