Organization pays off mortgages of 2 fallen Ky. officers’ homes
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — An organization born from the tragedy of 9/11 announced this week it has paid off the mortgages for the family homes of two fallen Kentucky officers.
Tunnel to Towers Foundation paid off the mortgages held on the family homes of London police officer Logan Medlock and Prestonsburg police officer and K-9 handler Jacob Russell Chaffins.
In October 2022, Medlock was killed by an alleged drunk driver in London.
He left behind his wife, Courtney, and young son, Brantley.
In July 2022, Chaffins and his K-9 were killed while attempting to serve warrants for domestic violence offenses.
He left behind his wife, Savannah, and daughter, Paisley.
Tunnel to Towers was started in honor of firefighter Stephen Gerard Siller who gave his life to help rescue people in the Twin Towers on 9/11.
