“Operation Colonial Sweep” a success in Bourbon County
PARIS, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office has announced the results of “Operation Colonial Sweep” — a major drug roundup targeting trafficking in Paris and across Bourbon County.
The Bluegrass Narcotics Task Force led the investigation, focusing on the Colonial Motel located beside Paris Elementary School after it became a hotspot for drug activity, overdoses, and deaths.
Officials say multiple suspects have been charged with trafficking heroin, meth, fentanyl, and cocaine, with arrests made in both Bourbon and Harrison counties.
Investigators report that the operation disrupted a network of high-level dealers and prevented dangerous drugs from reaching the community.
Authorities are urging anyone struggling with addiction to seek help and connect with local recovery resources.
